DC-Exchange provides opportunities to find and connect people with different talents, skills, and interests for a better world. We do this by organizing retreats to facilitate intentional friendships and individual growth. We plan and organize retreats to create platforms for DC-Exchange members to share their experiences and ideas on their initiatives for personal growth or community empowerment.
We provide leadership training, civic engagement training, and community development facilitation workshops.

Education Diplomacy

We facilitate education-diplomacy and cultural exchange programs between the US and Kenya. These programs include:

1. Kenya Experience Summer Camp Academy (KESCA): Provide annual retreat opportunities to explore and learn about Kenya, as well as encourage individual connections between communities. This can be done as a group or individual travel to Kenya.  

2. Virtual Students and Teachers collaborations: Kenya and USA Teacher Program.

3. Sister School Relationships and ‘pen-pals’: create sister school relationships for cultural exchange through the “old-school” pen-pal program.

Raise the Village

• Seek strategic alliances that will help further our impact and influence in raising villages in Kenya through education scholarship opportunities, technology, and leadership development. 

• The alliances we develop can help us acquire funding and shared services to support the DC-Exchange mission and vision.  

Infrastructure for Success

The foundational success of DC-Exchange is built on the strength of the board of directors' leadership and commitment.

A parallel leadership strategy is encouraged, which allows each board member to provide leadership in the areas where they are talented and experienced. This encourages shared leadership responsibility and ownership.
